Suggest Advice For Reducing Inflammation And Infection From A Developed Lump And Swelling After Injecting Methamphetamine

Injected meth in the crook of arm.Next day noticed a lump size of a quarter below the inject site,on my inner fore arm. Not reall close to injection site. Red and swollen I used a warm compress and ate garlic twice as a natural antibiotic. Three days later the lump is smaller but still red.

Hello,

You can apply cold compress to help reduce inflammation and soreness. Take acetaminophen, one stat after food for 5 days to help reduce the size of the lump. Stay away from meth addiction, taper it every day so that you can finally come out of meth addiction. Formation of such lumps can be prevented by switching between different areas of your body for injections.

It often takes a few months for such lumps on the skin to heal, but it can a prolonged period of time. Stop injecting the affected area until it heals. Never use the same needle again and again. It spreads infection. Get clinically examined by a health care provider if it's not reducing in size. The treating doctor may recommend cutting the affected area and applying stiches. Loosening and removing unwanted fat, or he may drain excess fluid and stitch up the cut.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
