What Causes Mid Cycle Bleeding With Headaches And Cough?

27 yr old female, ttc for 10 months. cycle began on 29 of May. Had intercourse morning of June 13. Had bad headache that evening (not sure if related). Could feel ovary sensation on my right side on evening of June 14. Morning June 15 had slight pink spotting and then nothing. Morning of June 16 had lots of wet brown discharge, then nothing. Morning of June 17 had darker red bleeding. In the evening it went away. Morning June 18 dark red bleeding again but not a lot. Headaches off and on and I feel very bloated. Have been stuffy and slight cough all week but I have been camping so I'm not sure if it's related. Could I be pregnant? No cramping - I usually cramp badly during menstration. Don't want to get my hopes up but I haven't had mid bleeding like this before???

Hello,

Mid-cycle bleeding occurs commonly due to hormonal imbalance, contraceptives taken, infection, injury, fibroid, endometriosis, etc. However, if you had unprotected sex and were not on regular contraceptives and did not take emergency contraceptive pills, you may be at risk of pregnancy. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get per vaginal examination done. Get urine tests for pregnancy done.

Your gynecologist may require you to get done USG (Uterus and fallopian tubes) to confirm ectopic pregnancy or pregnancy. If it is pregnancy, you will be managed accordingly. If it is other medical condition or underlying disease (thyroid, PID, etc.) that is causing you symptoms, you will be treated accordingly.

You can take acetaminophen, one stat when needed to get rid of headache. Take antihistamine at bedtime to get relief from cough. Keep cough lozenges in your mouth. Keep yourself well hydrated with water and fluids. Dry throat triggers cough. Use a room humidifier.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
