Suggest Treatment For Ruptured Frenulum

Hi I have torn my frenulum from the top of my penis but it is still connected from about half way down the head of my penis, I did this about two weeks ago, it stopped bleeding very quickly and has healed over, but sex is extremely uncomfortable! Can a doctor just slice the rest off under an anaesthetic, I don t want my foreskin removed, just want the rest of my frenulum (banjo string) removed so it doesn t get pulled on during sexual intercourse, thanks in advance, josh

Hello,

You are advised to keep the affected area clean. Use water to clean the whole area around the injury and pat it dry with a sterile piece of cloth. Apply an antibiotic ointment & cover it with a bandage, clean and do antiseptic bandage every day. Do not let it get infected. Abstain from masturbation and sexual intercourse and wear loose fitting clothes.

It may take some time but it will heal by itself. However, you are advised to get it clinically examined by a Urologist or a Surgeon, you may have to be treated by surgery. Frenuloplasty, a surgical procedure is commonly done if the tear does not heal over time or frequently tears. This procedure helps lengthen the frenulum. You can recover in around 1–2 months.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
