Can HIV Be Contracted Through An Open Wound?

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Jul 2015
Question: I had a visit to a massage parlour recently. The girl there rubbed her vagina on my penis for a very brief duration. Later i inserted my finger to her vagina, later i discovered a small scratch on my finger while opening a beer bottle around 4-5 hours ago. The cut produced a little drop not more than that. Am i at risk of being infected?

Brief Answer:
Highly unlikely scenario

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. It is highly unlikely that you can contract anything through this method, as there is only less than 1 % chance for contracting infections through this route, and in my practise so far I have not come across or even heard of any other hospital or doctor getting such a case.

So it is highly unlikely for you to get an infection through this scenario, but it would still be wise to avoid this in the future. Please also feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
