Question: I have been diagnosed with Vitiligo. On my neck. I am going to give treatment at least one full year. I have been using Tacrolimus ointment now for 5 months and UV treament 3 times a week. Very very slow process. My specialist has also recommend using twice a day Pseudocatalase cream and after using this for about 3 weeks I have 3 pimples on my neck. my question is: could this cream (Pseudo cream) be causing this? It is tough enough dealing with V but the pimples I can not cope with. Should I stop using the last cream?

Brief Answer:
Psedocatalase is not known to cause pimples.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your post.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

Pseudocatalase is not known to cause pimples. I would not stop it. Continue using it as it has shown to produce good results. But it will take a long time to see improvement. Therefore please have patience.

If the pimple is bothering you, you can consider topical isotretinoin preparation. Your treating doctor will know about it.

Meanwhile I would like to share treatment options for Vitiligo;

A) If it is focal (restricted to certain area) like in your case, Topical steroids or Topical Tacrolimus are used. Sometimes Phototherapy can also be used.
If it is stable and segmental surgical treatment (Autologus skin graft, Micropigmentation i.e. tattoing) can be considered.

B) If it is generalised only option is Phototherapy.

I hope I have cleared your doubt. Kindly get back to me if you have further queries.
Take care.
