Question: HISTORY:I had Right Knee Surgery Performed 04-13-2017 consisting of: 01. Right knee arthroscopy with anteromedial and lateral meniscectomies 02. Chondroplasty of the medial femoral condyle 03. Lateral retinacular release 04. Synovectomy 05. Open quadplasty 06. Bone marrow aspirate concentrate injection and Alpha-Gem injection to quadplasty and right knee joint
0n 08-22-2018 I fell directly on my right knee (patella) instant pain and swelling. Went to, unfortunately Work Comp, Dr. She x-rayed and said it did not look right. Sent me to my Surgeon. He x-rayed and them ordered an MRI. The MRI was done but was unreadable due to sever muscle twitching in right knee. Work Comp is refusing another MRI.

My knee is still swollen and very painful. I can still somewhat walk but it is getting more difficult. At the top of my Patella I feel a very soft divot or hole. It is still bruised and still leaking a clear/yellow/redish fluid any time I hit it or fall on it. The pain goes away as long as my leg is straight, recliner or bed.

QUESTION: Could the Patella be broken or could there be a tendon rupture or crush of the tendon?

Brief Answer:
Patella could be fractured

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

The usual signs on the exterior due to a fractured bone are swelling redness and tenderness .

I have seen the images you have attached. I suspect there to be a fracture in the patella or contusion of the patella for sure.

I repeat MRI with a better view is a must to rule out fracture which may need a Surgery Asap.

Please attach the image of the XRay here, I shall have a look only to be sure.
