Brief Answer:
Mastectomy is a wise choice

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

I am sorry to say that Mastectomy is the best choice for Invasive ductal ca. Amongst breast cancers, ductal carcinoma has higher power of invasion into surrounding tissue. The invasion and spread is fast and aggressive even when a small bit of tumor is left behind.

Lumpectomy is usually considered an option for benign or relatively less invasive cancers.

Even when the report says that the is no lymphatic or perineural invasion, the choice of mastectomy stands right.

Hope, I answered your query.

Please do ask if any doubts.

Regards,

Brief Answer:
I do not think there is no need for Chemo

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

Staging of the tumor in regards with size(T-tumor), spread to nodes (N-nodes) and distant metastasis (M-metastasis) TNM- stating is what decides whether or not chemo or radiotherapy needed.

Based on the HPE report attached I can only postulate that there is no need for chemo.

I recommend you to wait for the tumor removal and its evaluation by doing a Frozen section by pathologist to decide on chemo.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.
