Brief Answer:
ipill causes hormonal imbalance

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcaremagic.I understand your concern.

I am Dr.Srilatha gynaecologist.I have gone through your query.

In my opinion the chances of pregnancy are rare in your case due to following reasons:-

1)The unprotected sex was done in the safe period ie.,1 week before the expected period.

2)The ejaculation was not done inside the vagina.

3)The ipill was taken within stipulated time. The ipill is 95% effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.

The ipill causes hormonal imbalance leading to effect on timing and bleeding of the period ie.,the period might come early or

late and bleeding can be normal or heavy or scanty than usual.

The irregular bleeding can also occur.

So the delay in period can be due to ipill.

But if the period is delayed by more than 2 weeks then consider doing a urine pregnancy test just to rule out pregnancy.

But overall the chances of pregnancy are very very rare.

So relax.Avoid stress.Check for the period.

Hope this satisfies your query.

Feel free to discuss further.

Best regards...Dr.Srilatha

Brief Answer:
Safe and unsafe period is calculated only in case of regular cycles

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your query.I understand your concern.
In my opinion the sideeffects of ipill might be restricted to the same cycle in which it is used and rarely the next cycle might get effected. It causes irregular bleeding or spotting and effect the timing or bleeding of period.
It should be restricted to emergency situations and not for routine use.Frequent use might lead to uncontrolled bleeding and
furthur complications.
As you have used it for first time only the menstrual irregularities might occur and nothing more.So relax.
Safe period is the one where in the chances of pregnancy are rare even with unprotected intercourse. It can be calculated only in case of regular cycles.
Usually in every menstrual cycle ovulation occurs.During this time there is risk of unwanted pregnancy. This can be calculated in the following way.
For example if the expected period is on 20th 14 days should be substracted ie.,20-14=6 .This 6 th is the probable ovulation date.To be on safe side 3 days on either side of 6 is considered as unsafe period ie.,3,4,5 ,6 ,7,8,9.
Remaining days of cycle are considered as safe period.
Or another method is roughly 1 week on either side of period is considered as safe period.
Practice safe sex with condom.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.

Brief Answer:
pregnancy chances are rare

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your query.I understand your situation.
In my opinion the delay in period might be mostly due to the hormonal imbalance created by ipill.
Dont worry for taking ipill twice in the short period .It will disturb the hormonal level in the body leading to delay and irregular periods as I explained in the previous query.
But from now on keep it for real emergency purposes and for rare use.
Practice some type of contraception.
Avoid tension. The pregnancy chances are very rare.
But as a benefit of doubt I suggest you to do a urine pregnancy test after 10 days if there is no period.Otherwise nothing to worry.
Iam assuring you not to worry.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.
Best regards...DT.Srilatha
