Brief Answer:
consider plantar fasciitis

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

With no history of trauma, this would mean that fracture or tear of any ligament is unlikely.

The pain is then due to soft tissue injury of an area of the heel or other aspect of the foot.
One of the most common reasons for heel pain is plantar fasciitis.

Plantar fasciitis refers to inflammation of the plantar fascia, the plantar fascia is soft tissue that is present in the foot, it connects the heel bone to the toes.
Shoes with soft soles, poor arch support , excess standing or walking - can cause plantar fasciitis.

It is treated by(1) rest (reduced movement or standing whenever possible),
(2)anti inflammatory medication eg naproxen or ibuprofen or cataflam, (3)strengthening and stretching exercises- examples and images of the exercises for plantar fasciitis can be found online,
(4)modification of shoe wear

In most the pain resolves quickly but if it persists beyond 6 weeks then a splint at night as well as an injection into the affected area, is added

You can consider seeing your doctor for assessment.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
