Why Would I Have Recurrent Front Right Pelvic Pain?

default
Posted on Wed, 4 Dec 2019
Question: I've been having this recurrent front right pelvic pain (nothing that wakes me from sleep or anything). It will occasionally manifest as a dull sting, that doesn't seem to be going away (for the last 4 days). It's not getting worse but it's not getting better. I had a horrible testicular pain attack in december and the CT scan didn't show anything wrong, so he doctor attributed it to be prostatitis. I haven't been sexually often for quite some time so it's most likely not an STD. I don't know if it would a UTI.

In December, it was an excruciating testicular pain that hurt to even walk. It lasted for about 2 weeks.

It’s in the front right (my right) of the pelvis (2 inches above genitals, 2 inches to the right).

No irritation with urination or bowel movement.

Very occasional testicular discomfort but when it does happen, it’s very mild.

No radiology; had a urine sample tested - no bacteria present.

The hernia was on my right side (inguinal) in 2015. Was repaired that year as well using mesh.

I’ve been feeling ill all day; I can’t tell if it’s an anxiety attack due to my school test coming up or if it’s something related to this or not.

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the details.

* More likely from gravels or tiny calculus in the urinary system ( which can be
possible with normal urination ), stress does not relate to this pain.
* My recommendations at present

- Drink plenty of liquids.
- Cranberry XXXXXXX once daily in a glass of drinking water daily.
- Tablet tylenol ( 500 mg ) morning and evening after meals for 3 days.

* May require ultrasound examination as per the progress of the condition.

Wish you best of luck for your school tests.
Welcome for any further doubts.

Regards take care.

Thank you doctor. I was started on Cipro so we’ll see if that helps. Kind of unrelated...

I had a bowel movement this morning and there was bright red blood in the toilet; not a whole lot, just a few one inch size spots. Scares me pretty bad, fearing that it’s colon cancer. Had a pelvic/abdominal pelvic CT in December and nothing was there. Went to the doc to check for hemorrhoids and there were none.

Just curious what could cause this?

Detailed Answer:
Welcome for follow up.

* Bright red blood in stool may be possible from fissure or hard stool.
* Should drink more liquids with consumption of high fiber diet to avoid further
such episode.

Regards.

Ok. It scared me (and still does a bit) to where I thought it was colon cancer, due to that and me having constant lower abdominal nausea and left sided pelvic pain.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome.

CT scan in December was normal, so do not panic for colon cancer by such single blood spotting in stool.

Continue to consume plenty of liquids, high fiber diet to keep stool consistency soft
and follow up as per requirement.

Thanks.
