Will Botox Injections Cause Side Effects?

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Apr 2024
Question: Hi, doctor and I just need to ask one follow up question since just returned from the doctor who did botox injections recently. He agrees with u that no more botox should be done for a while and feels that the deep injection into the cheek (exactly into the localized spot of the AO symptoms) may have damaged the nerve a bit more than prior injections further away. My question is this and the doctor said I should get your feedback. Since this injection was so direct and triggered symptoms badly, will this nerve be able to renew itself in time, offer some relief and if so, about how long a process? Once again, thank u so much.

Brief Answer:
I would explain as follows.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Small peripheral nerves, in most cases, recover after any damage.
I think that Botox injections more irritated the nerve than caused any severe damage.
These small nerves recover with time (usually a few weeks).
I hope this helps.
Take care
