Is Taxim O Right Medication For An Infant Having Cough And Cold?

Hi Sir, My baby is 2 Months 15 days old. She is suffering from cough and cold. Doctor suggested to give 2.5 ml of Toxim-O three times a day for three days. We have given first dosage now and feel our daughter is passing stool often after 6 hours, also vomited once. Is it ok to continue to the medicine or visit the doctor again.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Discontinue it and go to a doctor as safety and efficacy in less than 6 month is not mentioned and these both are adverse effects related with it. Therefore, there is a possibility of relation in symptoms and drugs.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
