Is The Prescription Of Venlafaxine Right For Degenerative Disc Disease, Moderate Disc Narrowing, Painful Body?

I was just prescribed VENLAFAXINE and am not depressed nor ever been I was operated on and had my L-4 and L-5 removed many years ago and now I am 57 year old female diagnosed with DJD and moderate disc narrowing and am in pain in my legs lower back burning shoulders and am not sleeping well due to muscle spasms neck now is sore and want to know why Dr. prescribed this instead of trying to help me get out of pain plus he has no answers for me

Venlafaxine is a mood elevator. It is not used in treatment of degenerative disc disease. This needs oral pain killers and muscle relaxants for pain relief.
