Planning For Tubectomy With Elective Cesarean, Confused About The Myths Associated. What Are The Pros And Cons Of The Procedure?

Hello I m 28 yrs old with good health so far.. I have plans of undergoing tubectomy ( tubal ligation ) along with my elective ceserian for my second baby in a month.. There r lot of myths about tubectomy like excess weight gain , hormonal imbalances,severe cramping pain during periods. Kindly advise the pros n cons of tubectomy and an apt solution for all the myths above.

Thanks for the query.

As only part of fallopian tubes are cut during the tubectomy, that will not usually cause any of the problems you mentioned.
Tubes only carry the function of transferring the ovum, sperm, zygote. And they are not concerned with hormonal production, so hormonal imbalance, weight gain etc will not occur with this.
Severe pain during periods can occur when there is pelvic inflammatory disease, this can occur in normal cesarean also(not in all cases) tubectomy will not increase the chance.
As you are going to complete the family better to go for tubectomy.
