Will Weight Reduction Affect Placement Of A Belly Button Piercing?

Hello doctors! I was wondering if losing a big amount of weight (around 50 lbs) will change the upper belly button area (where a piercing would be) and if I got a piercing now if it would affect the placement and appearance of a belly button piercing.

not very much. There's skin sagging that can often occur with large amounts of weight loss but it is in the area of skin that is most stretched out by the weight and the belly button is one of the least affected areas. Depends a bit on the type of piercing. Most piercings are very localized (one small hole) and least likely to be affected. A large or complicated pattern in areas outside of the belly button is the most likely to be affected.
