It was stopped for its unwanted side-effects of weight gain and facial swelling. Progressive breathlessness is due to disease progression. It can get serious and life threatening as oxygen deficit increases progressively. I would advise you to see a good pulmonologist, get her re-evaluated, check oxygen, carbon dioxide levels (in ABG), see if she needs home oxygen (LTOT-long term oxygen therapy). Some patients with severe symptoms may benefit by home NIV (non-invasive ventilation). I think she needs admission and titration to optimal therapy. Also heart needs evaluation for the degree of right heart overload and the need for pulmonary vasodilators. Please discuss all these with the expert.
