Muscle Tension Or Pain Can Be Due To Nerve Compression

default
Posted on 1 day ago
Question: Hi I had an MRI done on my neck but symptoms don’t seem to relate. I am worried about some of the things listed. For example, one part says uncovertebral discophyte deforms the anterior surface of the cord. This sounds very serious but wasn’t listed in the conclusion part. What does this mean?
It also says ridging and hypertrophy seen on many levels and I’m anxious that I’m going to get worse and worse. I don’t have pain all the time and a lot of my pain stems from muscle tension but I’m becoming anxious since receiving the report which seems lengthy.

Brief Answer:
Muscle tension or pain can be due to nerve compression

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your MRI reports it shows unco-verterbal osteophytes which compresses on one of the nerve.
Such kind of compression causes muscle tension / spasm/pain.
MRI is usually advised to find out any such reason before labeling it as only muscle spasm.
No need to worry so much as it need treatment and can be kept in control with medication and physiotherapy.

I would like to advise you to consult your ortho or neuro specialist for further examination and treatment .

Thanks and Regards
