Question: Hi, Dr. Wani. Tried to get to u prior to question closing. For a long time now, having an issue with the pudental nerve on one side of genitalia which causes burning, stinging, some pain and at times frequent need to urinate. Gyno believes it is a slightly irritated pudental nerve on that left side. At first, he was going to try injections of either steroids or botox but first he wants to try a procedure called PRP where they draw blood, separate the platelets and then inject into the affected area. My question is do u feel this procedure and type of injection with my own blood may alleviate symptoms? Thank u for your answer.

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I personally do not do this procedure.
There is evidence that PRP which is rich in growth factors helps in nerve repair. I have heard from my colleague that it is helpful. So go ahead with PRP treatment.

Regards.

Doctor, thank u. Just one last quick follow up question. Prior to doing that injection, he recommends that I have a procedure called Vitalia (Temp Sure) which I am sure u know of - a radio frequency procedure done inter-vaginally. I did have one done some time ago and seemed to aggravate that nerve, not calm it. The gyno claims the opposite - that it is ultimately nerve calming. and recommends at least 3 be done, once a month. Just wanted to get your quick take on this. Thanks again.
